"My family relocated to Holly Springs in 1994 when there were barely 1,000 residents in the town limits. There were no grocery stores except for the Quick Mart/Texaco at the corner of Holly Springs and West Holly Springs Road, which also had the one traffic light that only blinked to control traffic. The only restaurant to speak of was Bud’s Bait & Tackle Shop (now ASAP Computers) where Miss Hattie Davis made an awesome biscuit while grabbing bait and beer for a fishing trip out to Harris Lake. My younger sister and I were bussed into Cary and Apex to attend school as there hadn't been a school in town since the late 1950s.
My father Gary, seeing the opportunity to establish the first heating and air company in this growing area, joined the newly founded Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce. Notably, my mother was the first Executive Director of the Chamber on a part time basis while assisting my dad in his new company. The term “Mom & Pop Business” defines the company they built. My dad taught me at an early age how to diagnosis and repair various types of units, but more importantly he taught me that attention to detail and good customer service were paramount to growing your business.
When my dad retired a few years back, the label “Mom & Pop Business” transferred from my parents to my wife Jamie and myself. Our service area has extended from the Holly Springs area to North-Western Harnett County, including Fuquay-Varina, Angier and Willow Springs. We don't boast of fancy, advertised wrapped service vans or revolving door employees; we still give our customers the one-on-one service and attention that my dad established over 30 years ago.

We just saved a customer over $2,000 by replacing an exact-match compressor on an otherwise perfectly working 15-year-old unit. Even a major air conditioning repair doesn’t have to break the bank if the rest of your system is in good shape — so why waste money replacing it?
If you’re looking for AC repair in Holly Springs, NC, give Holly Springs Heating and Air a try. We never upsell — just honest service you can trust. In this business, reputation is everything, and referrals will always be our best connection.

This gas furnace repair was quick and simple — and it cost the customer less than $200. A small heating repair like this can easily be mistaken for a major issue or even used as a false reason for premature replacement by an inexperienced technician.

This is why it’s important to check your capacitor regularly. As part of a preventive maintenance service, finding small problems—like a weak capacitor—can prevent much bigger failures, such as a compressor burning out.
A thorough air conditioning service also includes coil cleaning, checking refrigerant (Freon) levels, oiling motors, and performing a full system inspection. We look for things like wires rubbing together or burn marks on the contactor—small issues that can lead to major breakdowns if ignored.

I get this question a lot from customers in Holly Springs, North Carolina: “Has R22 been banned?”
Well, kind of — that’s the short answer. What most people really want to know is whether R22 refrigerant will still be available in the future and if the cost will keep going up.
The truth is, R22 has been steadily increasing in price, and I believe the cost alone will likely push it out of the market within the next five years. But don’t worry — there are affordable options available.
At Holly Springs Heating and Air, we’ve been using an R22 drop-in replacement refrigerant, RS-44b, for over five years with great success. RS-44b performs very similarly to R22, runs at slightly lower pressures, and doesn’t require converting from mineral oil to POE oil like some other refrigerant replacements.
So if you have an older air conditioning unit that still uses R22, there’s no need to panic. Call Holly Springs Heating and Air for reliable R22 replacement and HVAC service in Holly Springs, NC. We’ll help you extend the life of your system without unnecessary replacement costs.

In the past year, the cost of R-410A refrigerant has more than tripled, and we’ve had to adjust our prices accordingly. As a small AC company with low overhead, we can still sell R-410A for $85 per pound, while the average in Holly Springs, NC is between $135 and $160 per pound.
With inflation affecting almost everything, hiring a local air conditioning repair company in Holly Springs, NC can save you money while giving you confidence that the work is done right. When you need your next air conditioning service, consider the value of quality, honest service from a trusted local company.

Even though our name is Holly Springs Heating and Air, we’ve been located in South Fuquay-Varina at 220 Sherman Rd, 27526 for about 10 years. Serving Fuquay-Varina more frequently over the years has highlighted some small but important differences between the two towns.
One key difference is the soil type: Holly Springs has mostly red clay, while Fuquay-Varina has sandy soil. Why does this matter for heating and air conditioning? Sandy soil drains much better in crawl spaces, which helps extend the lifespan of air handlers, furnaces, circuit boards, zone control boards, and add-ons like humidifiers and UV sanitation lights.
Another difference is ductwork: in humid environments, ducts can sweat, get heavy with water, and even pull away from connections. The drier sand in Fuquay-Varina makes it easier to maintain proper humidity, protecting both your home’s structure and your HVAC equipment.
If you need help with humidity control, or any Fuquay-Varina heating and air conditioning repair, give us a call. At Holly Springs Heating and Air, we make sure your system runs efficiently in the unique conditions of your home.

Get ready for the summer heat — as most North Carolinians know, it can arrive quickly! Be prepared this year with an annual preventive maintenance service. It’s more than just cleaning coils; having an experienced technician who can spot small problems before they become major can save you a lot of money.
Checking capacitor values is important, but your entire HVAC system should be considered as one unit. Small issues, like a wire rubbing through causing an electrical short or a loose connection at the compressor, can lead to an expensive air conditioning repair if left unchecked.
If you live in Holly Springs, NC or Fuquay-Varina, NC, give us a try! At Holly Springs Heating and Air, we love building connections in the community — after all, we’re your neighbors. We’re a small, local company focused on providing heating and air conditioning service near you, not a big, impersonal company. Reputation is everything to us, and it always will be.

At Holly Springs Heating and Air, we only use high-quality capacitors manufactured in the United States. Our preferred brand, AmRad, is trusted by HVAC professionals for its reliability and long-lasting performance.
By using AmRad capacitors, we ensure that your HVAC system’s motors and compressors are well protected. Quality components make a real difference in preventing breakdowns and keeping your system running smoothly — especially in the hot, humid climate of North Carolina.
